Gary Reinert was a 1969 graduate of Atwood High School. He was one of three Reinert brothers who were all successful wrestlers. He placed third in district, second at regionals, and second at the state tournament; but, more importantly, Gary realized the positive influence that wrestling had been to him. Gary was a scholarship wrestler at Colby Community College where he majored in psychology. At K-State, where he wrestled his remaining two scholarship years, he majored in family and child development and marriage and family counseling. Graduate school was paired with being a high school referee. Through the years, Gary continued to enjoy wrestling as a spectator, was a cabinet-maker, and truly enjoyed all aspects of hunting and the out-of-doors. Gary's wife, Patty, his son, Aaron, and his entire family are pleased to present this scholarship in memory of Gary.
